Charles studied at Sparsholt and Merrist Wood Colleges. Charles has gained many years of horticulture knowledge working in historical gardens, nurseries and landscapes companies over the past 30 years. Charles has specialised in soft landscaping and maintenance for over 20 years. Charles has worked on various RHS show gardens, including Chelsea and Hampton Court. Charles lives with his wife in Petersfield and enjoys rugby, theatre and travel.

Charles Blumlein

Tracey Harding
Tracey started in the landscape industry many years ago as an accounts manager. At Location Landscapes she is responsible for the accounts, HR, admin and all aspects of running the Location office. Tracey loves going on adventure trips now her children have flown the nest.

Sam Day
Sam studied Horticulture at Merrist Wood College for 3 years before taking a job with a landscaping company in 1999. Sam’s love of plants steered him to soft landscaping and garden maintenance where he has worked on many interesting and large projects over the years. His skills have also been utilised creating various RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens over the years. Sam lives in Guildford with his wife and two children and enjoys cycling and martial arts in his spare time.

Lorna McKechnie
Lorna has joined Location Landscapes as an administrator, coming from a background in advertising, having worked for several years as an Office Manager in London. She moved to West Sussex to bring up her family as she has a great love of the South Downs. Lorna has two older teenage boys, enjoys her garden, walking her dog and playing the odd game of tennis.

Richard Ashcroft
Richard studied at Merrist Wood, and since then has gained over 20 years experience through both hard and soft landscaping with various companies. Richard is drawn to the natural world, and this reflects in his love of gardening. In his spare time Richard loves photography and painting, he is also a big rugby and cricket fan. He met his wife Louise at art college and they live with their two children in Midhurst.

Liam Birkett
Liam joined Location Landscapes as an apprentice in 2015. He completed a diploma in horticulture at Sparsholt College and has gained a wealth of practical experience over the years with Location Landscapes. Liam is a big football fan and has just returned from a travel adventure to Australia and New Zealand.

Jon Harrington
Jon started an apprenticeship in horticulture with Hillier Nurseries in 1998. During Jon’s 15 years at Hillier’s he was part of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show team that won a gold medal for many consecutive years. All through Jon’s career he has had a love of gardens and plants, he especially enjoys maintenance jobs and making a garden shine at its best whatever the time of year. Jon lives with his wife and daughter and is also a huge fan of Doctor Who.

Josh Woodhatch
Josh joined Location Landscapes from the construction industry bringing a wealth of knowledge gained from working on multi-disciplined sites. Josh has a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which takes up a lot of his spare time as he competes around the country.

Chris Groves
Chris joined Location Landscapes with experience in garden design and maintenance for vulnerable people which he found very rewarding however he also loves being part of the team at Location Landscapes. In his spare time Chris enjoys racing his motorbikes and spending time with his family.

Dom Pannell
Dom is currently studying horticulture at Sparsholt College and joined us from a retail management position. Dom has always had a passion for beautiful gardens and the surroundings. He is loving learning every day in his newly chosen career path! Dom enjoys sport, musicals, English heritage and antiques in his spare time.

Lewis Doel
Lewis joined Location Landscapes as he was keen to pursue an outdoor career and felt horticulture would be perfect. Lewis has experience working within the fitness industry and really enjoys the physical demands of soft landscaping. Lewis also enjoys the gym and fitness in his spare time.

Grace Evans
Grace started her career in the care industry however being creative she became an events coordinator and art teacher for a number of years. Grace has always been a keen gardener growing her own plants and vegetables therefore decided to pursue a career in horticulture. With a great love of the outdoors Grace enjoys walking and recently completed the South Downs Way.

Hannah Clyma
Having recently graduated from university in film Hannah soon realised gardening and the outdoors is where she is happiest. Hannah is now studying horticulture at Merrist wood college to widen her knowledge and put it into practice more effectively. In her free time Hannah enjoy walking the English countryside, listening to podcasts, reading and all things history!

Tia Eddy
Tia has joined Location Landscapes to pursue a career in the horticultural industry, having previously worked in an office. In her spare time Tia enjoys cycling and long walks with her family.

Damon Keep
Damon has a long history within the horticulture industry having worked in hard and soft landscaping as well as working for a wholesale garden nursery. Damon is also qualified in massage and sports injury massage which he continues to practice. In his spare time Damon loves cycling and socialising!

Julia Wellard
Julia has joined us after spending many years working in Human Resources. She has always been passionate about gardening and gained a wealth of experience creating and maintaining her own gardens, as well as growing plants and vegetables from seed to share with others. Julia is studying horticulture with the RHS and enjoys yoga, pilates, skiing and long walks with her dog.

Kieran Carter
Kieran started his career as a chef but wanted to move to an outdoor environment so has joined Location Landscapes as an apprentice studying horticulture at Sparsholt College. Kieran still loves to cook delicious food and has a passion for sports, he has participated in multiple sports both in and out of school.

Nathan Caplen
Nathan joined Location Landscapes through the apprenticeship scheme and is currently studying horticulture at Sparsholt College. Nathan’s horticulture journey started while working at Hiller’s garden nursery where he developed a passion for plants and all things gardening. In his spare time Nathan likes to stay active and enjoys playing his guitar.

James Long
James is new to horticulture and has joined us as a Soft Landscaping and Maintenance Assistant after an international career in industry. In his spare time James enjoys triathlon, travel and family outings.

Cameron Mills
Cameron joined Location Landscapes with experience and qualifications in arboriculture and has recently moved into horticulture which he finds very rewarding. In his free time Cameron enjoys long walks and has completed the National Three Peaks Challenge.

Mark Hellewell
Mark has recently semi-retired from the horticulture industry after more than 40 years. Mark spent the last 23 years of his career working for STHL training technicians and we are delighted to have such a skilled technician to maintenance and repair our horticulture machinery. Now Mark is semi-retired he enjoys spending more time at his sailing club and tinkering with his classic cars.

Mary Sellen
Mary has joined the Location Landscapes apprenticeship scheme and is currently studying horticulture at Sparsholt College. After working with horses for a number of years Mary fancied a change in career and horticulture ticks all the boxes as she loves working outdoors and being physically active. Mary’s love of horses is evident as she spends much of her spare time with her own beloved horse.
